The Seniors Section of Welshpool Golf Club was formed in 1988. It is open to all members of the Club on reaching their 55th birthday.
The Seniors Section have their own committee which is responsible for the proper running of the section in compliance with the Club Rules and Regulations. It organises its own competitions and matches which are run in consultation with the Competitions Committee.
The Seniors Section meets every Tuesday and Thursday. A draw for playing partners at 8.50am and tee off at 9.00am.
There is a very full calendar of events including Monthly medals, Trophy Competitions, inter club friendly matches, and other social events. As far as possible we try to ensure that our competitions and social events provide opportunities for members to play in all formats of the game. Whilst the majority of the competitions are Stableford scoring, we also have greensomes, Medals, Pairs and Bogey competitions in the calendar.
In brief, the section seeks to offer its members a friendly social environment in which to play golf in a spirit of competitive enjoyment.
